Most divers are statistics junkies – that’s why we love our logbooks so much! I was chatting to a reader of this site online the other day, and she was curious to know about my type of diving, so I thought I’d share on this page. I’ll ask our staff writer’s Aussie Diver and Medical Mick to do the same.
I should say that I’m not an instructor or professional, although I do have some of those qualifications. I’m merely a recreational diver, and I don’t work at all in the industry. So here we go:
- I’ve averaged 43 dives per year since I’ve been diving
- My longest dive on a single 12 liter cylinder was 62 minutes, despite a maximum depth of 33.4 meters!
- My longest dive on twin 12 liter cylinders was 81 minutes, with a depth of 44.9 meters
- My deepest dive was to 51.3 meters
- My coldest dive was 13.1 degrees in Gibralter (Max depth was 32 Meters)
- My warmest dive was 24.3 degrees in Lanzarote (Max depth was 33 meters)
- My “densest” dive period was in The Red Sea, when I did 16 dives in 5 days
- The longest (since I started) I have ever gone without diving is 48 days
Those are my stats then, please share yours via comments.
